Police is looking for a student at Makerere University suspected to have stolen shs5m from her lover who has been paying her hostel fees for over three years.Philoh Aryatwijuka who was the second best student in Bushenyi district in the 2006 Advanced Certificate of Education disappeared on March 6, 2010, according to her lover Martin Mumpe.
She has been a third-year student of Development Economics. In his statement at Wandegeya Police station recorded under case file number SD 42/17/03/2010, Mumpe narrates how she met then innocent Aryatwijuka in 2006 during her vacation and agreed to only make their romps official after she completes her studies.
“To show my sincere love to her, I decided to pay her hostel fees of Shs500, 000 per semester at Mariam hostel in Wandegeya, on top of giving her shs50,000 each week for upkeep,” Mumpe notes. He adds that he also set up video libraries in Mukono and Bushenyi districts.
“She later gave the Bushenyi business to her mother, but I bothered less. Instead asked her to be staying with me in Mukono during her holidays and I rented an apartment for shs150,000 per month where we could stay. She was a good girl then, but she has just got spoilt,” Mumpe tearfully narrates.
He says early in March he made up her mind to go and study from Zambia. He sold his vehicle a golf UAG 221U at shs3.5m and his Mukono video library. On March 6, 2010, he met Aryatwijuka at her hostel for a night to bid her good-bye.
“We spent the night together, but on waking up in the morning, she was nowhere. Even my money had disappeared.” “Her mobile phone was off. I later talked to her dad, but he advised me to leave her daughter alone. All I want is to recover my money. I know I have lost but I want my money,” Mumpe lamented, adding that she left him with her cloths, but every time he tells her parents about them, they tell him to sell the cloths and recover his money. |
