Though Prime Minister Apolo Nsibambi is yet to recover from the injuries he sustained in the helicopter crash recently, President Museveni has ordered him to ensure that the upcoming African Union Summit (AU) due to take place in Kampala in July is well prepared for.
According to foreign affairs state minister, Isaac Musumba, Museveni has directed Nsibambi to coordinate all the preparations in the run up the summit which will run from July1 9-27.
Addressing a press conference at media center yesterday, Musumba said government is to invite all African heads of government including Sudanese embattled President, Gen. Omar el Bashir. Bashir is wanted by the international criminal court (ICC) for crimes against humanity. 53 heads of state have been invited and over 3000 delegates are expected to attend. |
