Fans of songstress Desire Luzinda have reacted to the her heartfelt apology to her daughter, mother, family and friends over the leaked nude photos that circulated on social media last week.

The singer who assured fans that she is firm, wrote on her Facebook page  that she is working with the authority to bring her jilted lover to books. Luzinda said she’s aware she upset many who looked up to her as a role model.

The facts about this matter are that these were photos taken in privacy with someone I loved. In our private moments, we all have our “moments of madness”. The bottom line is that I trusted this person and never hoped that something done in private would find its way to the public domain irrespective of our differences.

I am aware that for many people who looked up to me as a role model, to the fans who adore my music , to the young generation that looks up to artistes like me as a symbol of the importance of grooming and growing talent, these photos must have been an upset.

I want to sincerely apologise to my mother, to my daughter, to my family, to my friends, my fans and any other people who have been offended by these images. Like I said, this was a breach of trust by someone I loved. I take full responsibility for having lost my mind to take such shameful pics. This person has not only abused that trust but now seeks to drag me down.

Her fans showed their support to the curvy musician

“Keep your head high..be strong and block your ears to sadists..focus on those who understand you and the woman in you..tewali kitaggwa!” said Joe Tabula.

Samalie Ntogo also showed her support for the songstress. “My darling, I don’t know you but I empathise with you. They are people in this world who pretend they are but they are animals. Please please, stay strong and focused. It is pitty to go through such a thing but God is the only judge and you will go through it.”

“Be strong atleast for your daughter but everything is going to be OK.”,Ayebazibwe Carol urged Desire.

“Desire don’t pay attention to ignorant people. Your beautiful and what those men have done to you it’s not nice but it’s only temporary it shouldn’t stop you from living your life don’t know you but your a aunt to my brother one day you will get to know me.” said Cecil Bongole.

Kanakulya Micheal quoted the bible in his message to Luzinda. “In Mathew’s 7 ,we are argued not to judge anyone because non of us is perfect and Mathew 16:14, we are argued to forgive.its not our call to judge and since you’re still alive and healthy, thank God you, get up and live your life to the fullest.”

However some were not moved by Luzinda’s apology

“Desire your the most stupid Ugandan artist on the planet. How could you open your juke box for a guy with a camera to flash it wide open. And besides u using this platform to ask for apology. Is the dumbest thing i have ever seen. The city square was the best place to be for such apologetic requests. These are not my views but those for the Ugandans who values there digital dignity. GET A LIFE YOU CRAZY BABE. ” wrote  a frustrated Maswa David.

Mutaabazi Thomas also urged the songstress to stop having controversial relationships. “U should revisit yo mind and stop having controversial relationships! today you hear Juma Seiko, tomorrow Seya, the other day Someone else!!! Eeeeh! Are u a charity organisation that provides yoyo to needy people???”
